Nope. State Boards should be the source for annualized comparative data.
 
Meyerring was disciplined for appraisals done in 2006 and 2005. By all accounts, it appears that the work product was horrendous. Additionally, she had also been disciplined by the State of Kansas.

That being said, I have some concern about discipline for appraisals that are that old... we are only required to keep records for five years in most cases. It seems to me that, if the appraiser has continued in her wicked ways, the State could look at some more recent work product and come to the same conclusion. Is anyone else concerned about this?
 
Steve, it's always possible for the state to dive a little further into the appraiser's previous work.

The subject of retention of work files always creates lively discussion as a search of these forums would indicate. USPAP says five years (plus the minor exceptions) but some states have a statute of limitations that may run longer than five years. We've also had the E&O carriers chime in with their opinions of this topic. So you can see why there are good grounds for discussion on this topic.

Me too....That's why our state was forced in a settlement to limit the number of years they can adjudicate such cases. It now matches our states 3 year SoL. If they can't figure it out in 3 years it's hard for me to believe anyone got hurt simply due to the appraisal.
