Tell the truth, how old are you?

Actual: 28, but this job makes me feel a lot older somedays.

The guy who finished training me is in his mid 60s but works out every day and looks about 40. My father was my mentor until he passed in 2004, he'd be 65 now. My guess based on my firm and from taking CE is that most appraisers are in the 50 - 70 age range.

For anyone that has is feeling sore about their age ... I just got my *** handed to me in court by someone in the predominant age group. Experience (or even the appearance of more experience) is a major leg up on the young'uns there.

BTW, I won't tell you Jo Ann's age but she calls me "Kid".

And no, I do not want to retire. What the hell would I do? Watch court cases, oprah, the cooking chanel, or the history channel? Sorry, not for me. I don't even have that much time these days to even check this forum as often as I use to.

I was 73 in March so yes, Don and I think Mike Boyd are still in the young whippersnaper group. And they will never get old because they will always be part of the younger group!

Going to be 53 in November. I used to be one of the youngest appraisers in all my CE classes, now I'm the old guy. On the other hand there were only 8 people in my last class...... Anyone else notice a drop in attendance?

Why waste gas? Why waste time? It's cheaper, too (for me). I can't remember life w/out internet or computer.

My mentor told me one day: use the type writer for the file labels. I got confused because I never used a type writer before - lol. I sat there for 30 minutes, trying to figure that dinosour out (did I spell dinosour right, TC - never had to spell it before).

lol - instead of using internet spell check; just ask TC - lol.

By the way, those that claim to be 70+ yrs. old, I can't tell (Mr. Clark types and moves around well on the forum for being 73 years old). I'm impressed.

When I get halfway through w/my general certification, I'm going online (internet) and earn my economic degree. I only found two Universities/colleges that offer such a degree.

I've never taken a CE class in a classroom, except for USPAP (USPAP CE is free - live).

I'm old enough to know that typewriter is one word--also old enough to spell dinosaur correctly--used an antiquated device called a dictionary to double check my spelling. Hear they have dictionaries available on that there internet thing.

Actually, TC used to babysit me when I was a kid!!! He was old then too!
