I'm 48. When I started in this business I was 28 and had a full head of brown hair. I still have a full head of hair except now it's completely white. Part of that is being Irish, the rest....?

I have a twelve year old daughter. At least several times a month when we're in a store, at restaurant, etc., someone will refer to me as her grandfather.

Note to servers everywhere. Refer to me as her dad and your tip goes up.

Kevin

I'm older than you and have a six year old--occasionally get that "grandfather" comment. She keeps me young--what can I say. Virility knows no age!!!!!!

...I thank you and I assume Neil Young would thank you as well!!!

You're welcome.

I thought it was that other guy, not Neil Young? I just know the song :)

I grew up with 90's music. I barely know who Neil Diamond is. I thought that weird guy, Rod Stewart, sung that?

Pluuuuuuuuu - I don't know - lol. Oh well.

I wish I could stay and play (that is what I do best). I really do need to get on the road before the "smokey's" get bad. I have a report to work on. My mentor would knock me in the head if she knew I was on here playing when I should be working (she probably already knows - hmmmmm).

Nice chatting with you Pittsburg.

Good post, Master Kenny B. Hey, Mr Baum: GO SAINTS! And, TC, drop the MR. (I'm to young for that crap - I'm just a kid).

Maybe the thread is still hopping the next time I stop by....

Everyone: STAY YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sincerely,

Quit bragging and get back to word. :icon_lol:

young 50

I no longer use a typewriter, a label printer does just as well. But, I have my trusty manual typewriter stored in the basement, cuz you never know. Pop quiz Mr. Greenback: Why were the keys designed in QWERTY mode?

Watch it, Pete. Maryann asked me to revive the local AI newsletter and she said she won't edit anything I write.

I miss the Society, a good organization that sold out to the stinkin' AI.
(threw that in for our weekly AI bashing)

Seeing as I'm another active Gen X'er on AF, I'll take a crack at it. IIRC from high school, it was designed that way to slow down the gals up front (I'm kidding!) from screwing up the machine.

The teacher had a keyboard setup that had the keys in a different order and we all tried it. Nobody in the class could break 10 wpm on the non-qwerty one.

Designed that way so the keys used the most would not hit each other on the old style manual typewriters.

I found the name of the other keyboard layout, it's called 'DVORAK' or something to that effect.
