The blog states it does not know if this Forum is private. It is privately owned and has been since the beginning.

Appraiser Blogs is anti-AMC, no doubt and for good reason.

McKissock has a decent blog but their classes mostly teach basic stuff that most should know already.

The AI site (I am a designated AI guy) is hard to navigate.

There are multiple Facebook pages.

-I am a Real Estate Appraiser The National Appraisal Coalition; 7,000+ members. They let everyone in there as long as they can breathe; no license required. I think my dog is a member. There is some good information there but any AMC idiot can join and there have been reports of AMCs dropping people for being "mean" to the AMC.

-100% Real Appraisers; 3,000+ members. To join one must have a license or be a trainee and prove they are not with an AMC. No AMC people allowed.

-Appraiser Watercooler; 2,000+ members. Not sure of the qualifications to get in.

-Appraisal Institute Designated Members (Unnoficial); 800+ members. Not a lot of activity but if one wants comments on complex things or commercial discussion it is here.

Without question, this forum is superior to all internet resources. If you need to know how many corners there are on a doublewide or you seek absolution and group hugs for flawed methods which were obtained from a 3rd generation fee shop list, facebook lala land is the place to be. On the other hand, if you desire a quality answer and wish to improve your game; you must endure a walk among the society of curmudgeons and accept the bitter medicine on occasion.
