The Impact of D.O.G.E. on the Appraisal Profession

Effueny and people having jobs and making a living are often at odds.

Efficiency benefits the top tier managers, CEOs, and shareholders when they lay off workers, outsource, or automate. Any costs savings is rarely passed on to the consumer or in a minor amount of crumbs

Have you noticed anyone gloating over folks losing jobs? Please provide a citation for your accusations. That said, I take no personal affront if someone is happy that they don't have to drop $600 for an appraisal. It's the same thing, after all. At the end of the day, if my taxes are reduced as a result of trimming the fat that is our federal pork-belly, I will be happy as well. That, however, is not the same as 'gloating' that someone lost their job. Your hyperbole is truly impressive.
Some on this Forum are so delusional they cannot see the forest for the trees. They espouse and project their feelings and any that rebut are put on ignore, has been my experience.
Everything has to be a Trump slam, or they cannot function properly mental health wise.
Not saying anyone in particular, but.....

AMs are not about efficiency; they are about diverting part of the $ from the borrower-covered appraisal fee from appraisers to the AMC third party. Any efficiency an AMC has within its own operation is its own business model.

Lenders benefit from either owning an AMC as a division for its own ordering or getting free of hard-cost service from an AMC ( since, thanks to the HUD bundled fee, the AMC compensation comes from the vendor /appraiser).

That said, every time I hear teh word efficiency now it is a code word for slashing workers and professionals and replacing them with lower-paid workers ( outsourcing in many companies, or AI in future, or in the case of appraisals, using PDR collectors instead of appraisers or using a WAIVER.

It's so exhausting... I'm absolutely certain I'm on ignore for several folks. And most of the time - it's just too much work to try to rebut every nonsensical thing someone writes. Sometimes it's either just too easy to knock it down, though, or the statement is so outlandish I just feel I have to call it out. Not sure why - I know it's an exercise in futility.

I don't see how Doge is going to affect and implement anything as they are not members of Congress.

They can't. They can, however, shed light on the swamp - just that should be enough to shame many in Congress to actually do something besides swindling the taxpayers.
