The Impact of D.O.G.E. on the Appraisal Profession

I don't see how Doge is going to affect and implement anything as they are not members of Congress.
If JGrant is correct....being a buddy of Trump is quite enough to get things (done).

Doge will expose waste and put it out for public consumption, if Congress chooses not to act, especially after this recent election, they will surely have to answer in 2 years...4 years... 6 years.

Think of the affect social media had on the past 2 Presidential elections by outright lying and not doing their job by investigating Russia collusion and Hillary, the Biden Laptop. Covid (too many topics to list here), the border is secure, and on and on and on.

The social media landscape has changed greatly and Americans are finding great podcasts and media which doesn't lie to them.

Per J Grant (clearly, people losing their jobs matters only when it is not your personal agenda being promoted):
"Of course those workers are affected. But the problem is their hire came at the price to the environment, and note it was a hire for most of them rather than jobs. The workers for the pipeline would be contact for hire and dismissed after it is built. And the REAL winners would be the oil companies because their profit would be mega $ for years. A bunch of voters no longer want to ruin the environment and roll back regulations to enrich oil companies, especially as the future of energy is not fossil fuel but sustainable alternatives.

As far as those workers who were hoping to be hired for the pipeline, I hope the admin and or private industry can provide other jobs for them /retraining and will if American rebuilds infra structure and other new energy projects."

. DOGE is an advisory capacity; it does not have the power to implement.

How much of their radical slashing ideas will get approved idk. Cutting waste is different than destroying services that benefit citizens. Some govt waste cut is desirable.

But those who gloat over the idea of govt workers losing their jobs - the govt agencies; besides providing essential services that many of us take for granted, the govt also provides secondary employment for the private companies it uses.

More unemployment, more chaos, more disruption lowers housing demand. Drain the swamp! ( replace it with toxic sludge ) it very easy to burn down a house and much harder to build one.
Depends how you define a service benefiting citizens. Paying in $1 having it sift through a beauracracy and having 1 penny of that dollar go for a service is not a benefit in my eyes. What government waste cut id desirable for you?

Good to hear, I admit I am afraid not much will get done since its just an advisory role and there are many people who support waste in government, even if they are not getting a piece of it.

Prove an example of one penny the result of $1 in govt.

Govty is not profit, so the costs plus salary is it. if those same services are privatizes, the company has to add profit on top of the costs and salary.

There is some govt ft that can be trimmed but they are talking about radically elimianing or vastly reducing a larte portion of it which performs services we take for granted.

I don't know the exact numbers, hopefully DOGE will bring all that to light, but if there are examples of that then yea. What are the services we take for granted? You are telling me the size of all government operations is necessary? A lot of government services are at the state and local level.

Federal government agencies are using just 12% of the space in their headquarters buildings on average, a report last month from the Public Buildings Reform Board found, the latest in a growing body of evidence that the federal government is sitting on a mountain of unused office space.

Government sell's these buildings imagine how much money they will save! Plus they can take the money from sale proceeds and pay it towards debt or help fund something.

How are they doing? In a nutshell, bloated, expensive, and reactionary.

Under DOGE theses Federal services you wrote above are not all going to go away. The concept is easy to understand if you keep an open mind and keep your politics out of it.
