We have a small town - a wide spot in the road basically - that was called Hermansville. In the Civil War, Germans, especially coming in from around St. Louis, were sent to NW Arkansas in support of the war for the Union side. (My own Sager kin from German picked the wrong side however.) But due to the anti-German sentiment in the South, Hermansville's name was quickly changed to "Dutch Mills" to this day. That is until around 1940 or so when German Street was changed to Napa Rd.
