UAD 3.6 discussion

At this point I'm just waiting for a street ready version to be released, then I'll complete a few sample reports and move on with my life.

The run up to 3.6 has been a boondoggle. The GSE talking heads, AMCs, software providers, expo carnival barkers, etc. have been banging on indie appraisers about not being ready, fighting the change, too stupid to use tech, etc. when not a single big tech company can put a working version on the street. But we know the game, they are trying to make money off of the classes and BS adjustment and autofill software. As for me, screw taking a class. When I get the first order I will tough it out and complete it, then move on to the next. It will take longer with more data points for the GSE machine, but if I can make money I'll keep on truckin'.

Exactly what I plan to do. The day I get the first one ordered, I'll pull up my software and do it as best I can. I'll watch some free videos if I have time, but I'm not paying for a class. These guys need to read the room, most appraisers are struggling, they don't have $50 for a class.

Do you really believe most don't have $50.00 for a class ? or is that tounge in cheek humor ?

So more detail needed on the subject and comps, by looking at them again and again will make you a faster appraiser. That may be possible if the check boxes are alligned in a certain order. But just looking at it, it don't look faster.

Glen is saying it will be faster, more appraisals done. Hey lenders, did you hear that. No need to raise dem fees. Just reference Glen.
And will make the MVE more accurate!

Not busting on your comment, but I think 2005 was when they last updated the current form - it's been out way longer than that as I recall.
The remaking of the 1004 was in 2005, which if I recall correctly, we were all hair on fire about it. The old 1004 could be used for anything. Wasn't the 1004 from from sometime in the1980's. I have my uncle's appraisal text book from 1972 and there are forms in it that are an awful lot like what we use now. So yeah, maybe its time.

Do you feel your ability to adapt and change is higher than that of the typical appraiser? Not busting on ya at all - I just think most folks will probably be very well served to at least be exposed to it through a class or demo or something. I'm gonna take Bryan Reynolds' class on it, partially just b/c Hal Humphries is teaching it.
I took the class from McKissock because I want to know what is coming down the pike. Got some continuing ed out of the way and TBH, I don't think anyone knows exactly what the final product will be. They have a pretty good idea, but the devil is in the details.

It gonna be like donkey kong. You keep checking boxes until a window pops up to fill in. Get it wrong and you get stipped on the head.

Some of you uad3 love bugs, have you really looked at it. The functional utility seems a bit off.

Its like any of the changes we've already been through, its not going to be an option, so you might as well get used to it.

Its a lot different. It's blatant AI offramp for a job perfectly suited for AI. Just need an inspection. Alot of people will quit. Turn times will be worse. If there's any kind of refi activity turn will be unacceptable and only waivers or inspections will be done on 98 percent .. that will be it for general lending purposes.

Don't

be such an Eeyore. Once we get used to it, it will be ok. We have used the same forms since forever, with a few tweaks. Something had to change and this is the result. You don't have to like it, but if you want to work, you need to figure out how to best use that form.
