UAD 3.6

If the time spent increases by 20-30%, then fees need to rise by 20-30%.
Then we should get paid more measuring in ANSI.
It takes more time and work just like FHA.
ANSI with its tenth accuracy is waste of time and doesn't significantly change gross area figures.
I still fudge the measurements (a tenth there and a tenth there) to correspond to assessors records.

You really mean it takes more time than just duplicating assessor records
I use to round off by half foot. Now I have to look hard and see the number by the tenth. WTF.
Also this week I read the comp street wrong and took wrong photo. Harder to read these days. Y'all have that problem too?
Good thing I'm taking a staycation this weekend. AF tires me out.

You can whine about changes, refuse to go along with Fannie/Freddie mandates, and stop doing any GSE work.

Or... you can spend some time learning new skills and methods. ANSI already happened. Other changes are going to happen as well.. with you or without you.

ANSI was nothing compared to this. The best scenari is a raise in fees - but expect pushback. If fees do not rise, there will be a number of appraisers who exit becaue it will not be feasiable to continue.

This new format is adding flood elevation and home inspection type data, plus many other data fields - and if that were added to existing formats, it would be one thing, but the new dynamic format will add a lot of time on the reporting end.

The BB is a place for whining ( and exchanging information).

ansi is the anti market measuring standard...there is no law you must follow that garbage...but there is one for appraisers to not be misleading...so much for that SOW bs :rof:

ANSI is only required when the loan is for a GSE and when the appraiser completes an interior and exterior inspection of a single family dwelling. It's not garbage. It's simply one way of doing it... and it's the way that is mandated by Fannie, Freddie, etc. If you don't want to use it... don't. You'll need to find clients that are okay with that.

The differential is that using ANSI does not necessarily require additional measuring - it is a recognized standard of breaking out the sf living area of properties.

The new dynamic format of the UAD 3.6 involves additional measuring areas such as front porch elevation and ceiling height, plus adding a plehotra of additional data , and to top it off is a poor interface with legacy forms, or any forms, making it cumbersome and time-consuming to use for reporting
