UAD 3.6

Im trying to see how and where people put support for adjustments. Do you know where that is? Or is it not expect anymore?
The adjustment support section is one of the bigger structural changes in 3.6. In 2.6 it
lived in freeform addenda or the general comments field — whatever you typed, wherever.
In 3.6 there are dedicated narrative elements inside the Sales Comparison grid itself,
plus a separate Valuation Methodology Commentary section.

The XML structure actually makes this less ambiguous than 2.6 — the fields are defined,
not a blank box. Whether that feels intuitive depends entirely on how the software
exposes it. Done right it should be obvious where everything goes.

In these sections, is it text only? Or you can add images and formatting such as spreadsheet?

Are they essentially mini text addendums like in 2.6 (functions like word processor), but in the appropriate sections?

Text only — the narrative fields are plain-text string elements, no inline formatting,
no embedded media. Just typed text, nothing else inside them.

Images work completely separately. They're structured as their own exhibit elements —
each one has a caption, a file reference, and a MIME type — bundled alongside the report
as a package. A narrative field can mention a photo in words but can't contain one.
Text and images are structurally distinct.

So not really like the 2.6 word processor addenda. More like specifically named text
fields at defined points in the report, with imagery living in a separate layer
entirely.

3.6 is so unimaginative.

A modern appraisal report should leverage the internet. Allow the reader to access additional information by clicking on buttons in the report.

The appraisal report should be a web page.

In education, visual aids are an important part of educating the reader. 5 pages of text on 1 chart is easier to read and understand, and faster to provide. We will see the 3.6 minutia time consumption just eat our tiny fee. Now becoming the new 'poor' professionals. My lenders have said nothing about it. Don't think it will happen this year. Or if started, stopped really fast if the lenders can't handle it. Just my guess.

Posted this morning on FB. Believe a boots on the ground appraiser listening in on his state board meeting or the GSE guys posting here saying there's nothing to worry about:

Not enough appraisers? I know a couple appraisers and they’ve told me they haven’t done an appraisal in three weeks now.

It’s important to remember that the Covid flexibilities were meant to be temporary.
