Your naive if you truly believe this statement! Lowest loss ratio reported, maybe. Have you missed the reports over the past decade regarding the fundamental dishonesty within the VA? Like letting vets die in the waiting rooms after months trying to get an appointment, but reported as only hours or days on the waiting list? And who would need a taxpayer bailout when they have an unfettered pipeline from the treasury? Just because no one is holding them accountable doesn't mean they are a good deal for anyone. I think the whole program is a sham for the benefit of realtors and lenders at the expense of the vets, who are victimized as often as they are assisted.
Your talking about two different departments there. That is like comparing the loan production side of a bank to the compliance side of a bank. They have both sides. They work against each other the whole time everyday.

By the way, my old friend loved the VA hospital. Prisoner of war in Germany for 16 months. He was rich too. That's where he wanted to go. He died there peacefully. I prayed with him the day before he died. His immediate family was with me. His whole family was/is rich. They could have sent him or encouraged him to go anywhere they wanted to. He wanted to go to VA hospital. I think if you have much family support, it makes a difference but I have no real support for my theory. I just know my friend liked the VA hospital. That's all of my theory. Evidently his rich family liked it too. Knowing him, he got his way.

Terry, I thought your name looked familiar - didn't you get kicked off the Denver VA Panel in late 2018 ?

While it is true that there were problems within the VA medical system, we vets were fortunate that we recently had a President who fixed the VA (when everyone else said it couldn't be done). VA health care has done right by me since I got out and I am grateful for it. Ditto for the VA loan side of things.

My nephew's wife is a nurse at a local VA. She said when the outcry over the state of the VA - particularly Phoenix- arose, they actually transferred part of their local budget to the hospitals where the outcry was....had staff cuts and lower hours. My bro. went for an appointment and when he got up slow due to the disease, they had taken someone else back there. After getting to the desk and he said they called my name and someone else went.

So after 10 minutes or more, they took him back and the doctor said he had already just seen him....So the doctor was using the wrong file to doctor a patient who wasn't who the doctor thought he was...??? What kind of doctoring is that?

I am not interested in your politics (just as I assume that you are not interested in mine).

As a disabled combat zone vet who has used the VA health care system for the better part of two decades, I am entitled to my informed opinion that the VA health care system is in much better shape today than it was in 2016. There was a bill passed by Congress that is largely responsible for that improvement. If you speak to anyone who is knowledgeable about VA health care you'll see that it is a fact. Lots of members of both parties in Congress voted for it too. But it never got done until the president at the time chose to make it a priority. For that we Vets are grateful.

If I post anything here the VA will know, I will be cut off of my regular 60 mile trip to a subject for a while. BUT, now at 63 yo and starting to collect SS beni's, I think they are really attempting to compete with the AMC's to justify there jobs. I like the system, but it is conforming to non appraiser independance standards .
