You are not forced to read any posts lol. Just skip over them. Your opinions about them being whiny are simply your opinions. Again, nobody forces you to read posts on the topic or my posts in particular.

LOL, thanks Eli.

I'm just wondering the 'quality' of local appraisers. I saw one name on an assignment today; this 'person' had to cough up $7,500 and 45 hours of CE this year. They are on the VA panel....apparently....

Perhaps an email to the RO to see if it is available is in order.

Like I said. They would love you if you had the time to devote. They won't cover stupid but you wouldn't have a problem,

No VA lists are available.

No VA lists are available.

None of the bank appraisal panels I am on is available to the public. For that matter, have never seen an AMC "panel" of approved appraisers...using that word loosley. :)

Is there a list of VA panel appraisers available to the public? Perhaps an email to the specific region?

I checked the VA website but cannot locate a list.

Thank you.

Each regional office has a complete list with e-mail addresses. That is how an appraiser is notified of an assignment, by e-mail. I doubt they will share the list but you could try.

As far as some being good, some not so good, and some.......well, whatever you may believe. Take any list of several hundred appraisers, anywhere, and you would likely find the same thing.

I dont know how, but a local Realtor has a list with the names and emails. For about a year everytime one of his deals went VA he would call every VA appraiser to ask if they "caught his deal". It got annoying and i had to let him have it.

A private segment of our MLS shows appraiser data and a code identifying the appraiser on many properties (more and more). It's a high percentage because the appraiser gets a discount for supplying basic data. Then, the appraiser gets a code list identifying the appraiser. It's good to be able to reach out sometimes.

So if the financing is VA and you are an agent or appraiser, you can find the appraiser by their code on the MLS.

Are you on the VA panel?
