VA Panel List Of Appraisers

A private segment of our MLS shows appraiser data and a code identifying the appraiser on many properties (more and more). It's a high percentage because the appraiser gets a discount for supplying basic data. Then, the appraiser gets a code list identifying the appraiser. It's good to be able to reach out sometimes.

So if the financing is VA and you are an agent or appraiser, you can find the appraiser by their code on the MLS.

Not in my market. Since I hold a brokers license and have it hanging on the wall of a real estate company(I never use it), I get to access the MLS as an agent. But, if I wanted to join the MLS as an appraiser, the fees are much higher than an agent pays. Go figure.

None of the bank appraisal panels I am on is available to the public. For that matter, have never seen an AMC "panel" of approved appraisers...using that word loosley. :)

Agreed. I always love the question on appraiser applications "are you on the blacklist for any of the following lenders"? I've been doing this a long long time and I've never been 'notified' that I had been blacklisted from anyone...nor have I ever seen a lender's blacklist. I conjecture that more than a few 'lenders' choose not to utilize my services for fear that they will receive a credible and honest report.

I don't think that is paranoia considering the mortgage fraud I have seen.

And bailout. Note VA had no bailout.

I agree with you.

I choose to believe that I am paranoid, however, because it makes me 'believe' that the world is a better place than I know it to be. Now....off I go whistling and skipping along to the theme of Mary Poppins....before I place my head back in the sand.

Yeah. When you consider the VA's parameters and no bailout. It's pretty astonishing.

One more note. The VA don't do fastest and cheapest.

Yes yes yes. Perhaps this could be a lesson for the industry? Now back to my regularly scheduled whistling of the Mary Poppins theme song with a mouthful of sand.
