Hang in there, you are very close. Is there any subject where you just feel "confused" and reading and studying the materials just doesn't clear it up for you? If so, let us know what you are stuck with and maybe we could explain it to you in a way that makes sense and would be easier to remember.

Best investment I made was taking ABIII from a very good provider. I passed my Residential exam yesterday and do not think I would have without that course. I was trying to lock in the education requirements for 2008 for C.G.
and it paid a big bonus on my residential exam. For a while I was wondering if I had got the wrong one. All that was missing was our old buddy Elwood.

A friend of mine signed up for compucram

http://www.compucram.com/

and said it was well worth the fee (which I think is relatively low).
You can focus in on the areas you feel you need most work in.

I thought I read that the on average it takes 3 times to pass the test? If so, you are right on schedule!

Good luck!

Have you been using the CompuCram practice tests? They helped me a lot -- I used practice tests from several different vendors, and passed the CR with one or two questions to spare.

When I took the brokers exam, I missed passing by two questions -- on the second try, I had just enough right answers.

Does California use a computerized test, where you can mark any question your not sure of? I use that feature a lot -- I probably mark 2/3rds of the questions the first time through. If you have any doubt about an answer, mark the question and go back to it again and again. Often, the answer will be revealed by a question later in the test. Use all of the time allotted, and don't be afraid to change an answer you are unsure of -- and don't be afraid to change it back.

Reschedule an exam ASAP -- there still might be time for two exam dates before the end of the year.

Good Luck!!!

Hey you ALMOST got it and next time you will do better and you need so little to be THERE it will happen...:flowers:

FWIW there seems to be many places and times that you folks in CA can retake before the end of the year (been talking to a lot of folks out there about end of year woes).

""Read and PAY ATTENTION to every single word, don't skim the questions.""

...and that was a direct and real time quote from a friend out there who is taking the test tomorrow and is hustling to find an HPIIIC because hers (which she never used) died! Her comment as we were chatting on the cell phone just now was I'll pass if I... {see above}...

and if I blast CAREFULLY through the rest of the exam I can probably figure out enough of the $$ questions on my own without the calculator.

So hang in there... take a few days for heavy duty review, and go PASS!!

I feel for you I just took it for the second time. I missed it by 1 point the first time. I bought Henry Harriosns book and it really helped. I made a 92 the second time. (great for me). Do not get discouraged. Keep on studying and re-read the questions. GOOD LUCK!

Are you kidding?
No test to upgrade to licensed appraiser?
In TN, you have to take a test, and its pretty much the same test as certified. (I have taken both)
Dean,

No kidding Dean. In California, you take the same test (state license) for the trainee license and you have to have 90 hours of basic education (same as state license). All you are missing is the 2000 hours of category 1 experience for a state license. Therefore, to upgrade from trainee license to state license, all you do is make application for it and submit your log and sample appraisals. No additional testing or education is required under 2007 requirements. That changes in 2008.

Yeah. She called me from the elecontronics store to find out what kind of battery goes in the 12C. Apparently she bought one off eBay and the battery was not included. I told her mine had a (blah, blah, blah battery) and she told me her calculator took 3 batteries.:Eyecrazy:

Guess she'll have to figure the 6 functions of 1 using her fingers and toes.

Ashfor,

Looking to Compucram.com, I used it before I took my test, it is set up into sections so you can find a trend of what you need to study more on. I saw I was week in financing and equity type questions so i broke out my books an looked up parts I was week on. Helped big time.

In my State they did not allow financial calculators or any type of calculator which was programable. Just the 49 cent type calculators were allowed. Most of the math was rather simple anyway :)
