Vision problems that come with age

Got my pair of night driving glasses, US made with proper optical coatings. I tried them driving back home last night and they are nothing short of amazing. Complete game changer.

Are those the ones "as seen on TV" with the guy in military fatigues? They have fluorescent yellow lenses right?

I'm a sucker for as Seen On TV products. My wife always rolls her eyes when I exclaim "wow....those are cool".

Charles I accept your thanks for telling you about them, and I expect you give me
a firm Laurel & Hardy Handshake and a all expense paid dinner when we meet in person :) LOL

I didn't know there are night driving glasses.
One night I was driving from Stanford and I couldn't see that well when driving the winding dark road.
After few miles, I realized I forgot to turn on my headlights.

Mrs. DTB has Fuchs Dystrophy which required cornea replacement in both eyes.
The traditional, cadaver supplied, corneas was a no go as one needs to lie flat on their back for 72 hours with the gas bubble afixing the ornea. Neck fusion prevents her from laying dead flat.

Luckily we found a fantastic highly acclaimed ophthalmologist who did cutting edge work. She removed the "bad" cells from the center of the cornea, harvested "good" cells from the periphery and placed them in the center. We used drops that were only available in Japan which grow and multiply the cell count.

Went fantastic, had both done (separately) along with cataract lens implants. No readers and 20/20 corrected vision. I think the poor thing would have hardly been able to see at this point, had we not done the procedure (15 minutes btw)

The things that modern medicine can do are amazing.

Glad you're wife is doing well. My cataracts took about 20 minutes each. They give you an injection to relax you so you don't blink during the operation. I still did it, kind of ticked off the Doctor. The 2nd time I think they hit me with a double dose to make sure I didn't flinch. I didn't, and got a nice legal buzz!

New advances in medicine are amazing.
I'm hoping for new breakthroughs in dementia.

I'm taking Ocuvite Adult 50+ eye health pills. Can't hurt.
Just like taking Prostate vitamin pills.
I took brain pills. Didn't help me. Waste of money.:(

I know a woman whose mother had eye problems, and a surgery and good recovery and months later, had a car wreck and shatter glass into both eyes. She has gone through several surgeries and still unable to drive herself - really back swelling and has to take a medication to reduce that and waiting for more healing. It's probably going to be a year or two to get it better. Not expected to be 100% ever.
