Wasp Nest As Safety Issue For FHA?

We had a wasp problem and I tried some commercial treatments but finally had to call an exterminator. Cost a $100 and solved the problem. I'm very sensitive to insect bite so prefer not to mess with them. In 37+ years of appraising have never mentioned wasps in my appraisal reports. Wood destroying insects are another matter.

I coulda in the old days. My grandad thought wasp larvae were the best bluegill bait going. He'd squirt them with a water spray and grab the nest before they knew what happened. But his buddy an old painter, took a coffee can with gasoline, climbed a ladder and gently plucked the nest, held it at the top of the can and they fell dead in the fumes. They would flutter their wings but never saw "old man Farley" get stung once.

My grandaddy liked them as bait too. I remember one time he tied some rags to a long frog gig, dipped it in diesel fuel and stuck it up to the nest which was loaded with wasp and larvae. Some of the wasps survived and made a "beeline" straight down to the other end of the frog gig and lit him up. Never seen a 75 year old man in overalls and brogans run so fast.

I recall a borrower once told me a rat's nest of Californians had moved into her neighborhood, but I didn't put it in the report.

That darn rats nest of Californians has invaded Arizona too over the last 15 years. Big nest, lots and lots of rats.

Yes, but my actual point is that Honeybees are "Endangered Species: Honey Bees In The United States Now Protected By Federal Law. ... There are also flies and other flying insects which do the same thing, but bees are known for their affinity toward greenery, while flies are more known for their affinity toward anything dead.

Don't tell that to the guy that made my bees disappear..He estimated roughly 2000 bees and honeycomb in my wall the first time he came out. They found an exterior hole and were buzzing in the wall by my master bath. Roughly 50 had made it inside through the overflow drain in my bathtub..They hovered on the glass and wouldn't leave the bathroom. The guy killed the queen and her followers and two days later a new bunch appeared and I had roughly 3,000 bees and 2 queens in the same area..

I've seen some things but had dreams about those bees for a year.
