The assignment was received from an AMC. There opinion come from past appraisals that did not appraise high enough.
This sounds like tortious interference on the part of the agent(s). The agent is interfering with a contractual relationship between you and the lender.

Standard purchase agreements in CA have a clause that states the seller (and by extension their agent) will provide access to third parties like appraisers. I would be surprised if PAs in your state didn’t say the same.

Consider contacting an attorney and have them send a cease and desist letter to the brokers to nip this in the bud.

Do you really think a lender would leave themselves wide open to such a complaint?
They do this a lot. So why wouldn't they be blindsided by an investigation? I mean yeah, it gets you blacklisted but they are blacklisting you by allowing a Realtor to stop you from doing the assignment. AND, if you can get them to respond by text or email, all the better. You have proof. So, if a Realtor does a fellow Realtor wrong, you can file at the BOR level, then the state RE Board level.

If there is no proof. WTF are they going to investigate. Do you think the agent put it in an email to the appraiser. If there was any tangible proof except hearsay. It would be a short investigation.

Cease and desist what. Without some kind of tangible proof. What can an attorney do. Did the agent just say it over the phone. If so you are sol. He said, she said. I am not defending it. But they know how to get away with it.

No, but that is not the topic of the conversation. RE agents are not supposed to be picking the appraiser, including eliminating ones, they do not want . (usually for so-called killing a deal ) And Terrell said he lived 10 miles from the subject and the RE agent STILL didn't want him there
All I was doing was providing how they CYA. I am not condoning it. I must have missed the post where Terrell said they were 10 miles away. Could you point it out. I couldn't find it

It puts them on notice and strengthens any future action should it arise.

The OP may be best served by sending an email/text now requesting access to do the appraisal. The response, or lack of response, could become evidence, including with the agent’s licensing board.

I wouldn't complain about the Realtors. I'd make a complaint to your licensing board about the AMC (AMC's here in CA have to be registered with the BREA).

If the appraisal was pulled after it was assigned by the AMC, the AMC was influenced, coerced by the realtors....which defeats the whole purpose of going through a middle man so as to be free of bias..... sheesh.

The whole AMC debacle is such a scam...

I can't find it now...maybe I thought he said it. Doesnt matter though....we all understand the point.

They are sometimes that stupid - especially texting... The board came down on 2 Realtors in Chicago for something similar recently I believe- Appraiser Christopher Posey...
