What did she say? That AMC's were only going to take a 15 to 20% cut now instead of 50 to 60%?

No she has no power or authority on what lenders and AMC pay to the appraisers. Direct lenders mostly pay close to the mid range AMC pays to their appraisers.

Remember direct lenders have their own internal cost of ordering and management of their fee panels and reviews etc. That's why the direct lender we helped manage closed its fee panel and contracted out to the largest AMC.

The cost to manage the direct fee panel over different States well exceeded $150 per report and the management over States in three different time zones was adding on even more headaches.

Cooperlogic and Biggley AMC could handle almost all of the States by simply adding on $200.00 +/- to the direct fee we paid our fee panel.

The average age of appraisers is
50 plus years old or older with many being 60 to 75 years old. Why train seniors into a career they don't have time to even learn.

Finally there's no unbased age biase in hiring certain professions and some like military-emergency personnel require substantially lower aged employees.

Appraisal Foundation Settles HUD Fair Housing Case​

The foundation settled with HUD over claims it blocked people of color from the appraisal profession. As part of the settlement, it will establish a $1.22M scholarship fund.

"We are pleased to have reached this conciliation agreement," said Foundation President Kelly Davids. "We appreciate HUD's recognition of our proactive efforts to lead the appraisal profession to welcome a new, diverse generation of appraisers and their support of our forthcoming scholarship program to aid new entrants to the field."
