Appraisal Foundation Settles HUD Fair Housing Case

By Amy Connolly
The foundation settled with HUD over claims it blocked people of color from the appraisal profession. As part of the settlement, it will establish a $1.22M scholarship fund.

"We are pleased to have reached this conciliation agreement," said Foundation President Kelly Davids. "We appreciate HUD's recognition of our proactive efforts to lead the appraisal profession to welcome a new, diverse generation of appraisers and their support of our forthcoming scholarship program to aid new entrants to the field."

shame on me...shame on you :rof:
So they set up a foundation that helps them recruit minorities and new entrants. Gotta give them credit they didn't give HUD a dime. That's what we call good negotiators and a win win for everyone.

you only pay if you are guilty
Not true the Federal Govt has unlimited resources and they essentially hold people and their businesses hostage by filing racial lawsuit's that can cost millions to defend. Often even if your innocent it's cheaper to make a deal.

In this case TAF knew what HUD was looking for and they made good deal not having to bankrupt their members fighting the Feds.

I don't think their racist the problem is most Blacks or Asians are told to get a real job with steady pay and with benefits and that's why Postal Service-Federal-State and Counties hire millions of minorities.

The Fee appraisers were traditionally older males and white and without intense recruiting of women and minorities they are a target. Their problem is even most of the white appraisers don't want to join yourself included or were you kicked out or asked to leave.

I have no idea who F your business over but you surrendered without a fight and if you were not guilty why did you fold so easy ? Maybe the same reason that TAF agreed to set up a foundation.

you sound like marcia fudge... :rof:
What did your State Board do to you to send you off the rails or did you get put on a large do not use list by the lenders ? Someone stepped on your toes to make you hate anyone that's in authority or who has a good position in life.

LOL what are you talking about?! They're good negotiators because they got caught?

So TAF sat on the sidelines saying "talk to the hand" and did not defend the very licensed professionals they write rules for when we were accused of being biased against minorities..... when they were?

Sheesh, they went along with the premise that action was needed for us.... come on.

What a crock. Nothing more than a result of the previous administrations obsession with DEI.
