It doesn't take a genius to figure out that at the price they are selling them for, they are either taking a loss or are getting large subsidies. Either way it is not sustainable
There's more EV competition in China which will make them more competitive with better products in future.
Again, Trump gave the EV industry to China and Elon knows it. Thanks Trump.

Maybe subsidies, but they are selling. We'll see if it's sustainable, they are gaining rapid market share all over the place including Australia, South America and EU (to a limited extent). And it's not even about price, they are good cars now with interesting features nobody else comes close to offering. Watch that Zeeker review.

When I was in Australia, UBER driver loved the EV car made in China.
At first I couldn't recognize the brand because it looked really nice.
Many cars aren't EV but China's EV car companies making effort to capture car market there. And what are US companies doing?

This is what I'm talking about:

You always spout the absolute worst disaster you can dream up - as if it will actually come to pass. That, by definition, is hysterics. If folks use the black market then the government will be underfunded and we won't be able to fund the military. That is complete and utter nonsense, yet you spout it as if it's fact. Again - its unbecoming.
You just had a worst-case scenario disaster in Texas. Severe floods and catastrophic weather events are becoming more common. Tht is fact, not hysterics.
Clean up after these events costs billions. The money spent up front in hardening infrastructure and advanced warning systems would be cost-effective.

So you are in favor of flooding the U.S. market with cheap Chinese Evs. No surprise there

US could subsidize American made EVs or put tariffs until American companies catch up.
That's why many foreign countries have tariffs because their local companies can't compete.
US has falling into category of weaker countries in which local companies need help to compete.

You make less sense with every post

Wit the number of Evs China is exporting, I think they will reach a saturation point sooner than later. Infrastructure in the countries they are saturating will also create problems sooner than later

Trump with his outrageous tariffs has made the world looked down at America's might. With huge deficits coming, world has lost faith in our dollar.
TACO showed we can't compete unless there's tariffs. A strong nation doesn't need to stoop so low.

I was looking at new cars yesterday while supercharging my Tesla.
I was surprised the KIAs and Subaru were averaging $35,0000. WTF.
It's good to have some cheap EVs to keep car prices down.
