We have a situation I am struggling with on MLS fees. There are four in the area I cover, each one wants over $50 per month, two are over $670 per year to join and be a member, one is $1,500 with a one-time fee plus $800 per year after that.

What is your situation with MLS in your area?

One MLS for my coverage area. $1,032 a year.

$27.50/month and a $310 annual fee for board membership.

My board has no debt and they just built a state of the art office. Paid cash for everything.

5K for a license, 77 per month.

$140 per month after a $1000 application fee plus $500/year Realtor fee.

Check into being carried on their roster as a "Thompson Broker". I pay $105 every three months for data access. No yearly fees.

Thompson brokers are principal brokers/appraisers who do not hold membership in the Association or any other REALTOR® Association. They do hold a valid real estate/appraisal license. The term references the Eleventh Circuit Court ruling in Thompson vs Metro Multilist, Inc.

My main SoCal MLS board is $426 per year, was about $1,000 to join. Also belong to Antelope Vally board and Ventura County with similar fees. Ventura County data is now included with SoCal, so no need to renew that one next time. :)

The SoCal MLS board rocks as far as usability. :clapping:

There are 4 or 5 residential MLS systems here in NJ (all of them monopolies, btw, and usually proud OF it!). Can get a tad expensive.

I was not aware of the Thompson Broker route, which I will be looking into.

In Greenville, SC, we pay a combined cost for each appraiser of $1800 per year when adding together the board dues, the quarterly dues, the monthly dues, and the lockbox key dues and insurance. Our board does not differentiate between the realtor use, (like listings), and an appraiser who is looking for data information only.

$175 every six months for CRMLS out here in SoCal. This board reciprocates with many other MLS systems in CA, so I have pretty good access to comps throughout most of the state...........not that I ever need it.

I don't recall if there was an initial sign up fee as I have been an MLS member for 20 years.
