Caught a little on the wildfires in LA, that looks disastrous. The winds are killing efforts to contain the blaze and a Huge amount of damage was noted. Feel bad for all of those who are now displaced.

LA previously cut their fire dept budget last year to give that money to give immigration a helping hand.
You deserve your self inflicted problems, it's what you voted for.

And i live next to zombie land. That is a self inflicted problem that doesn't go away. I don't see no threads on poor me, zombie land.

my neighborhood is next to the highest drug use zio code in the good USA. You could also call them the wooblers when they need a fix. And the beggers at intersections. And the retail thefters.

Our city government requires us to call them 'our outdoor neighbors'. Venezuela actually had a tv commercial showing our main zombie st, saying 'see how bad it is to live in the us.

They love their illegals out there. If they can get just a small part of them to help fight the fires, the fires would be out in a matter of hours.

How long until the 'celebrities' have a black tie, formal fundraising event to raise enough money to rebuild maybe one house. Maybe Biden and Harris will be guest speakers where they'll blame all of it on Trump. Who knows, maybe Oprah will show up...but they'll have to pay her 50% of the money raised, $1M minimum.

Maybe I sound jaded but I really do feel bad for them, just as bad as they feel when there are tornadoes in the Midwest, flooding in NC, or hurricanes in FL.

Rick Caruso, a billionaire developer who unsuccessfully ran against Karen Bass for mayor in 2022, said stifled water supply as the Pacific Palisades fire reduces mulit-million-dollar real estate to ashes represents "absolute mismanagement by the city."

"There's no water in the Palisades. There's no water coming out of the fire hydrants. This is an absolute mismanagement by the city. Not the firefighters' fault, but the city's," Caruso, a former mayoral candidate. "We have got a mayor that is out of the country, and we have got a city that is burning, and there is no resources to put out fires," Caruso added. "It looks like we're in a third-world country here."

You are soo mean with that statement. However, i do live in a very quiet secluded, once industrial section, of that neighborhood. I only bump into them when i cross into the next neighborhood.

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) committed significant resources to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives before the outbreak of massive fires that devastated the Los Angeles area overnight.

The LAFD has implemented an internal “racial equity plan,” subjected employees to diversity training and is currently led by Chief Kristin Crowley, “the first female and LGBTQ Fire Chief in the LAFD” and a staunch supporter of the initiatives. As strong winds fed the wildfires on Tuesday evening, former Republican Los Angeles mayoral candidate Rick Caruso reported that some fire hydrants were running low on water as the department scrambled to mobilize firefighters.

Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman warned residents of looters and vowed to punish them Wednesday amid reports of looting in the county as firefighters struggle to contain multiple wildfires raging in Southern California, including the massive Pacific Palisades fire.

Authorities are still trying to grapple with the most destructive wildfires in Los Angeles history. At least five people have been killed and more than 100,000 are under evacuation orders.

How do you know they gave that money to immigration?

I heard that most of the LA and CAL firefighters were at a mandatory two-week DEI indoctrination in San Franscisco when the fires broke out. The wanted to return to LA but bums and illegals had moved into their cars. The firefighters were arrested when they tried to physically remove the squatters. They are being held without bail while the murderers and rapists are released back to the public on their own recognizance.

In the meantime, LA fire dept. is drafting men into the dept. They give the applicants a quart of beer and make them wait for an hour. After that, if they can pee higher than a line drawn 3' off the ground, they're given a fire suit and a 48 hour DEI training course and sent out to the front lines.
