Wild Fires In LA

Strongest wind in 10 years caused it.
Very sad.
City could have been prepared better wrt evaluations but there is no way to have such a heavily populated area evacuate without grid lock.
Hope they get it under control soon.

How do you know they gave that money to immigration?
Reported on news that they were short on shelter money, and cut the fire dept budget for that use.

I don't see you ever referencing any specific notes about you commenting of fact. Noting reference for me, but not for thee.

I heard that most of the LA and CAL firefighters were at a mandatory two-week DEI indoctrination in San Franscisco when the fires broke out. The wanted to return to LA but bums and illegals had moved into their cars. The firefighters were arrested when they tried to physically remove the squatters. They are being held without bail while the murderers and rapists are released back to the public on their own recognizance.

In the meantime, LA fire dept. is drafting men into the dept. They give the applicants a quart of beer and make them wait for an hour. After that, if they can pee higher than a line drawn 3' off the ground, they're given a fire suit and a 48 hour DEI training course and sent out to the front lines.
Where did you "hear that"-most of the LA and CA;L firefighters were at a mandatory 2-week DEI indoctrination? OR it was supposed to be funny? Sick in the head.

Unproven RW crap always starts out with " I heard that."
Link and paste the source.

Poor, poor Grant. Born without a sense of humor, like most Libs.

Besides, you make up stupid crap and various lies all the time and yet you blast others for doing the same. You have our collective pity.

That wasn;t funny, and I have a great sense of humor.

You are sick in the head and in your soul

You and your hateful MAGA , making repulsive remarks while a disaster is unfolding - fail to see the humor. And I briefly looked up the idiot blame for it to DEI; only a few far RW sicko sources had any mention of it.

The areas in question are not outlying rural tracts with mismanaged fire risks. So that isn't it.
The winds are moving way too fast for almost any amount of manpower to keep up, so that isn't it

The fire apparently burned right down to the sea in a couple spots

I just appraised a 30+ ac ranch off of Mulholland near the Ventura County line. This property got damaged in the 2018 fire. I might have to revisit the site to confirm it's status.

Now that's funny!!!

If you have to tell people that you have a great sense of humor...you don't.
You are sick in the head and in your soul .

There's nothing funny about using your hate to post fake news right in the middle of an unfolding tragedy. .
I don't care about your accusations since I love to laugh and anyone who knows me knows that. The several hate-filled posts here trying to link DEI and these wildfires caused by the strongest winds in 10 years were pathologically ill; trying to write it off as funny - won't fly.

Jay started the thread from a good heart. Your ilk jumped in for hate-filled replies and polluted it. You are a disgrace.

In the Pacific Palisades area itself:

931sf - smallest SFR size
3200sf - median SFR size
15,100sf - largest SFR size

$1,790,000 - lowest price
$3,885,000 - median price
$32,200,000 - highest price

Not to be morbid about the situation but I am also wondering how this event affects RE throughout the region. Some owners will have the means to rebuild. Many/most will just buy or rent another home even if just an interim strategy - that will put more pressure on pricing. Some will use the loss of their home as the reason to relocate out of the region altogether.

My guess is that a large percentage of the commercial uses might not get rebuilt unless the businesses therein were doing well enough to take another swing at it. The City and County building and planning depts are going to get flooded with development applications. Construction trades and related will get supercharged.

I won't have any trouble finding land sales in these areas for the next several years. I'm still picking up current land sales from homes that got burned out in the 2018 fire.
