Working during holidays

I can put away my muddy rain shoes until Friday. I have to turn on my sump pump whenever big rain coming. Too much problems and stress during the rain.
At least you have a storm shelter and don't have to sit in water. Will your sump pump still work if you lose electricity? You probably have a generator too on your house that kicks in if electricity goes out.

We set record on rainfall where I live a day or two ago. Like 5 inches in one day. We have had close to 10 inches of rain in December. I don't have a sump pump but it would be working overtime if I did. I don't have a basement. Soil locally is not real nice for basements.

If you build a basement locally, you better make sure you get somebody that knows what they are doing. Soil and ground are very important on basements.

Construction is also.

Fernando did you ever make that trip to Quebec City? Did you stay at the Chateau Frontenac like I recommended? I hope you didn’t wear your Mickey Mouse T/shirt there, French Canadians aren’t impressed by tacky American attire.
No I didn't have a chance. Though Quebec City is on my bucket list to visit. I'll look into the Chateau F if I go there.
And I only wear my vintage Mickey T in Disneyland. My favorite designer now is Ralph Lauren when I go on vacation.

Why is this even a topic?

Even though appraiser will work, others are not thus causing problems.
Agents and owners are out of town. And government and MLS have early off schedules.
Though AMC was working fine with me.

I got this order and I didn't really want to do it.
Besides being complex (but Fernando of course can handle that), it's the holiday vacation period.
Anyway, this AMC is my best client.
So I had to respond as a courtesy.
I figure I give them a 4% profit and my bid will be rejected.
To my surprise, AMC gave quick response and accepted my fee. Ugh.
i usually take off on most Holidays but on those few times that I do work Holidays I charge and extra fee. If they are not willing to pay an extra fee let them find a sucker to take low paying order while everyone else is enjoying themselves. Took one a few days ago before I cut off the work for Memorial Day Weekend and they automatically offered $50 more due to appraisers taking off. I saw it and turned it in the same day since it was close. Those type of holiday assignments are cool. Good luck!

Everyone has to make their own business decisions. I generally don't work on Holidays or Weekends. If a Client has a rush that would require Holiday or Weekend work, the fee is double plus $1000.

Now we see the reason why you don't work on weekends and/or holidays.... :)

I work weekends and holidays unless I am out of town. But work time on weekends goes around kids schedules.
