The OP's decision was to not complete the assignment and not get paid, this is within his freewill as a businessman to decide whether one agrees with his reason or not.
In the end it was the OP's time and resources that he was out of (his choice to lose money). The lender/AMC etc. will just reassign it and another appraiser will set up an inspection within 24-48 hrs.
In case I miss it, please do PM me with the link when the OP starts a new thread complaining that the AMC and/or Lender cut him off totally for breach of engagement contract and unprofessional conduct, placed him on a DNU list which was then shared with other AMCs and Lenders. All of which could have been avoided when the appointment contact was first made. Thanks in advance.
