I can fulfill public trust doing desktop appraisals if I employ the appropriate scope of work.

I could see the purpose of his original post from a mile away and it saddens me to say that I agree with his underlying intent of the post. But is it December and I guess agreeing with him one one thing a year isn't too bad.

You agree with the underlying intent to show appraisers are hypocrites by needing to earn a living? Okay, that makes sense ( not ) The undermining of appraisers by other appraisers for the most petty reasons is incredible. .

? Whatever be their rationale ? The rationale is because without ability to earn enough income to remain in business, appraisers can not fulfill public trust since they are no longer doing appraisals. Was the purpose of your post, to make appraisers look like hypocrites, only interested in money? I suspected that was your reason from the minute I saw the topic.

Since people can not earn a living without earning fees to sustain them, why is that a surprise? What was the underlying reason for the post, then ? Oh yeah to show appraisers are hypocrites . Thanks, one more inane thread you must be bored.

There would be absolutely no out-cry if AMCs were offering hybrid assignments for $300. None. Zilch.

Appraisers are making a living or they are moving on to other things, a direct result of supply and demand, especially in your state which has a severe over-supply.

If one depends solely on residential lending work, and especially AMC work for a living there is nothing setting them aside from everyone else.

Compare the number of appraisers in your state in terms of appraisers and population to other states. Supply and demand run the world.
