Do not count laundry room as a room

Strange revision request today. Appraiser should not count laundry room as a room. Huh? This is not a closet but a room, roughly 5 x 12. I have always counted laundry rooms in the room count. Not laundry closets but rooms yes. I did a quick Google and it seems that in NY an appraiser cannot count the laundry room in the room count but no mention of anywhere else. Yes I know it would be easy to just change the room count and move on but I don't want to bow to some squirrely staff reviewer plus if I've been doing something wrong for 20+ years I's like to know it.
I have never included a laundry room as a room in room count no matter how big the room is.

Never, ever, so included a laundry room or utility room in the ROOM count.

Call me stubborn but this was my response: FHA Single Family Housing Appraisal Report and Data Delivery Guide states pertaining to room count "To complete this section, enter the total number of above-grade rooms, the total number of bedrooms above grade, and the total number of bathrooms above grade. Do not include foyers, basement finished rooms or unfinished attic space. This is the total above-grade room count." The laundry room is included in the room count.
You're plowing new ground with that take on it. :)

I'd call my utility room a room because you could screw the doors to the jambs and live well for about 3 weeks till you succumbed to cheese, crackers, caviar and wine poisoning.

There's a room in my house with two noisy machines. I think my wife calls it a 'laundry room'. I don't go in there and we're both fine with that arrangement.

All it took from me was to screw up one load of laundry. Been banned ever since. Maybe this should be in the Marriage is overrated thread.

Works every time. That's why I don't let the wife cook or do the laundry

Appraisers do not iron. Ever.
I guess I'm the anomaly.... I iron my khakis and Polo the night before appointments. I don't like wearing things that looks like I got it from the bottom of the hamper.
