Pegged my Windows 10 PC this afternoon

You should be able to stream Trump Rally's pretty good with that set up...
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I also need to come up with a good option for backing up, besides mirroring and the cloud. I've got a 1 TB Western Digital My Book, but the Acronis True Image software is garbage, so need a new solution.

Go with NVME for your main drive. SSD or HDD for appraisal files and backup. Currently have a 1tb NVME as my boot drive, 1tb SSD for VMs and about 8tb in spinning drives for backups/movies/etc. It fills up quick

Did you have acronis's antivirus software enabled when you got this malware?

Just Defender. After I got into safe mode with networking, I downloaded Malwarebytes and ran it in safe mode. Then, I performed a deep scan once all the drivers were loaded. Found and quarantined eight cooties.

I went ahead and ordered everything from Amazon. I hope the 34" Alienware monitor isn't overwhelming, but I guess I will get used to it.

I hope that is the case. I sit in front of a flat LG 27" HDR LED monitor now and will be going to a curved 34" QD-OLED so it's going to be different.

I've been using a curved LG 45 inch for years now and I predict that you are going to like your new one.

Man, that's huge. Did it require an adjustment period?

If it was I don't think it was too bad. I had been using three monitors and I was able to go down to that one plus a 55 inch TV as my second monitor. No way I would go back to anything smaller.
