"The capitalists will sell us the rope with which to hang them" comes to mind. We needed to charge other countries for access to our market and use that money to retrain and retool our workers who were displaced. Not just throw them on the trash heap and abandon them to alcohol and drug abuse. But instead, we let our globalists set up factories overseas with the only benefit to Americans being cheap, disposable, planned obsolescence products guaranteed to keep us perpetual customers. We could have done just about anything else and ended up better. That's why I was in favor of Trump's tariffs, I was hoping we could finally use them to put Americans back to work. I didn't know he was planning to swap Chinese manufacturing for Indian manufacturing and use them to make the whole world "kiss his ***". Another bait and switch. Anything but "winning".
