24 Hour Appraisals

Of course there isn't. It only becomes communist or socialist when one person tells another what they should, or shouldn't think. That's when it becomes a Karen issue. And thank you - you've provided a simply perfect example of such.
Flacco isn't talking about what an appraiser charges. He's stating that grandparents shouldn't be allowed to appraise because they've already made too much money.

That is a ridiculous interpretation of what I said.

I said they are selfish and greedy. Putting their interests first without regard for their child or grandchild. Who does that. It's unbelievable.

The logical conclusion of which is that they wouldn't be greedy if they'd just quit appraising and leave the business they built to someone else. Which is the same as saying they shouldn't be appraising because they've already made too much money.

F-ing unbelievable.

The 24 hour appraisal is obviously a hydrid. It's been an option for a while now. So it is not something new.
Doing a 24 hour turnaround is what client desires. However an appraiser working at such time constraint will be stressed, ruin health, and make mistakes.
Hard to believe but I make mistakes. I saw my report had a grammar mistake. Forget it. I just submit report to satisfy client's expectation and tracking of my turnaround time.

It's not "someone else". It is their middle aged daughter and adult grand son. Milking their off spring until they die.

By definition, anyone besides themselves is 'someone else'. You sure you're ok man? You're not making much sense today... maybe time for a break?

In most cases, I probably could do a 24 hour desktop.

We just don't want to have to do five of them per day to live paycheck to paycheck.

Are you an appraiser? Have you ever completed an appraisal? Sometimes it takes a week to get an appointment, or a call back from the owner, selling agent or listing agent. You have no clue the obstacles involved. You will be getting junk appraisals. I see the all the time. The fast and cheap appraisers will be standing in front of an appraisal board due to meeting you needs.
Yea they are expendable to these companies/AMCs, that is why they need to keep new crops coming in.

I wonder if they expect the appraiser to work 24hrs straight without sleep to complete the order? I assume that's what they mean by no rush charge.
Call agents and builders over and over at 3 in the morning til they answer! If they complain just tell them it is for 24 hr appraisals and they should be thankful.

I received this unsolicited email today from Regorra. Not sure how they found me. Might be fun to check them out

Thank you for your interest in working with Reggora as a property data collector. We’d like to schedule a 15-minute vetting interview with you to learn more about your background and confirm eligibility for the program.

My parents live with us. They have some assets they don't draw down. But even if they didn't have anything, social security covers all their expenses including food and two overseas trips per year. Retired people do not need $240k per year while their middle aged daughter and adult grandchild are making $75k each from the family business.

It doesn't matter if they don't have a dollar for retirement or the reason why. That's just pure greedy.
I'm probably in the top 15% of SS retirement earners based on the 30-year SS retirement formula. Because of this year's steep inflation, my monthly 2025 SS inccome will increase by about $75 [seventy-five dollars], relative to monthly 1-bedroom apt rent and utiliy expenses here in SoCal, of about $3,500, not even close to upscale housing...
