When you click that button every report you've ever created is stolen in an instant and uploaded to their database.

if one agrees to give them the data by opting in then it cannot be considered stolen.

so glad i left alamode over 5 years ago...

Don't know if I have commented on this thread but here goes.

I don't upload my reports to vault. Well I did but they are just outdated skeletons about 15 or so. They keep telling me I have not backed up my files to vault. They think i am a dumbazz and need reminding. No dudes i have not forgot. I am not participating... I am not sharing crap with you or 100,0000 appraisers either. Go Away!

I have two laptops. One laptop is this one where i do everything. The other is my back up laptop. If this one goes down the I can jump over to the other one and START ALL OVER ON A CURRENT REPORT In progress. That's just that one and all the completed reports going years back are on my back up laptop. All of them.

Call me old fashion. Call me an Old Coot. Call me anything you want. It's my way its pretty dang good one.

FTR, I dont bank with my phone, I use 0.2 gigabyte data on my smart phone monthly - Not even a chance I will have to buy more data. I don't have all kinds of APP's.

I have a Samsung tablet. Nice one got a great end of year model price. Thought I would use it in the business. Nope it sits here on desk covered with dust.

I could care less about Zuckyberg, Bezzo's, or any of them high tech Junkie multi-billionaires. God Bless them!

I called them today and opted out. Sad that many appraisers will mindlessly go along with this monetization of the data that we produced from our own efforts and at our expense.

I specifically requested a confirmation in writing and the opt out is to be confirmed by the end of the day today. We'll see what happens.

Doug, Please keep folks updated. Thanks!

Every statement they make has only their long term stock price in mind.

You have a point.

Whenever I hear about some sleazy, scumbag company that's perfected a sneaky and effective way to steal people's money (or work product in this case) I have to think that it might be a potentially good stock to consider buying.

Monopolies like WalMart and Amazon, data stealers and manipulators like FB and Google, etc. have all proven to be good long-term investments.

CL stock has just about doubled in the past 5 years, not bad.... I suspect that Google or Amazon will buy them out in a few years.

i've been watching them too. last month has not been great but as you say overall they are trending upward.

When I renewed my Alamode service I did take the time to read the agreement. In just the software renewal, no extra services, they said they upload your last 20 reports to the cloud as a "free service" to you whether you opt in or not. In the cloud they can potentially scrape all data from the report. Why wouldn't they? Alamode put it in writing if you disagree.

Dustin from Alamode has reached out to me to try and clarify things. First, there is no debating the Service Agreement which is the purpose of the post. Now, what they do with the data and at what point they extract it is certainly open to debate because it is all behind closed doors. We as consumers are forced to guess. I have no doubt that there are still good people at Alamode who were there before CoreLogic. Dustin may be one of them. However, you have to understand, Dustin, you are a part of what is quickly becoming a monopoly on appraiser and real estate data collecting and redistribution. If you take the rose colored glasses off and put yourself in our shoes.. You'd be very much as concerned.

I propose if anything we perceive is going on is false.. don't just tell us. PUT IT IN WRITING! CONNECT THE DOTS FOR US! Tell us when the data is scraped. Where it is going. What is CoreLogic's intentions. Put it in writing and be accountable for your actions. Some of us appraisers are technical fools... But don't play us all as fools.

You can end this here right now with a blast email being truthful.. not some 2 minute video telling us nothing. For all we know you are being kept in the dark as well and you're just trying to save Alamode. We are concerned about the big picture. What is CoreLogic doing?

Doug in NC wrote in an earlier post that he spoke with alamode and requested a written opt-out agreement. He was expecting it by the end of the day

Makes me want to do up a bunch of dummy reports. I am not sure how to do it and keep my license though. :ROFLMAO:
