Strong made his billions in oil and carbon trade-offs, which should be a tip-off that something ain’t right. He portrayed himself as an “environmentalist” and had deep roots in the United Nations, having been in leadership positions in a number of UN environment-related programs. He was a proponent of a world government in the name of climate change.

El Niño has spurred warmer temperatures around the planet for several months. October was the warmest on record, at 0.98°C (1.76°F) above the 20th century average for the month.

After acknowledging that El Nino is the cause of warm weather, they say that global warming is likely to add to it without any backing of that claim. It is amazing how the press continually injects the global warming narrative for anything weather related, yet the weather forecast never predict such warming as it relates to CO2. Very funny, but stupid.

Summary: Researchers have discovered that increasing levels of CO2 in the atmosphere have shifted photosynthetic metabolism in plants over the 20th century. This is the first study worldwide that deduces biochemical regulation of plant metabolism from historical specimens. The findings will have an impact on new models of future CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.

In most plants, the uptake of CO2 through photosynthesis is reduced by a side reaction called photorespiration.

The research group has now found that the CO2 increase in the atmosphere over the 20th century has shifted the balance between photosynthesis and photorespiration toward photosynthesis.

This shift has so far contributed to the global vegetation’s ability to dampen climate change by absorbing a third of human-caused CO2 emissions.

The photorespiration pathway is known to increase with temperature, which means that temperature and CO2 effects predictably oppose one another.

This implies that the CO2 -driven metabolic shift will be counteracted by future temperature increases.

Vegetation’s ability to capture CO2 from the atmosphere through photosynthesis is not only a decisive factor for the global CO2 balance but also in predicting future climate change and crop productivity.

That is a good find Randolph. A very important study indeed. Too bad it doesn't say if increased C02 makes plants grow bigger, than they would if C02 was reduced. Now if we just get the government to get the big industries to stop dumping chemicals in rivers, streams and wetlands, we could get gigantic plants and feed the world.

DURHAM, NH, July 10, 2013 – A study by scientists with the U.S. Forest Service, Harvard University and partners suggests that trees are responding to higher atmospheric carbon dioxide levels by becoming more efficient at using water.

The study, “Increase in forest water-use efficiency as atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations rise,” was published on-line today in the journal Nature. Dave Hollinger, a plant physiologist with the U.S. Forest Service’s Northern Research Station, is a co-author with lead author Trevor Keenan of Harvard University and colleagues from The Ohio State University, Indiana University, and the Institute of Meteorology and Climate in Germany.
