technically it's called TV Yellow. they came up with the color to make it look better on b&w tv. found this little tidbit in my searching:

as far as playing, well that just isn't in my wheelhouse. never had a desire to learn. i don't however have a problem letting it sit and gain value as i do the same thing with a couple of the cars i own. my dad and i always joked that when i retire i would sell the guitar and use the funds to take a first class around the world trip
from what i have been able to gather the current value is probably around the $8,000 mark, so the trip is not that far away. could do it now w/o first class but hey, i deserve the best! just ask me!
