will figure it out eventually

thanks for the info and link. wow, have they come down. 10-12 years ago they were in the mid teens according to my dad. not really worried about the value at this point other than for insurance purposes. dad and i discussed it many times over the years when we shared an office and we determined the best use would be to sell it when i retire and use it for a first class trip around the world.
i still have to grab the amp from him so i don't know the details of that yet but i'm sure it's comparable to the guitar in terms of level and whatnot.
sounds like a good down payment. i'll do you one better and offer easy financing* for the balance.

Nashville is a pretty reasonable drive from most of Ohio - not a day trip, but an overnighter in Nashvegas would be a pretty nice break from whatever daily routine holds you captive.thanks. did that already. they will give me an estimate of value if i send pics but stated it is nothing that can be used for insurance purposes unless i either bring them the guitar or ship it there and back, neither of which i am willing to do at this point in my life. i am content to sit on it for another decade or two
recently inherited a very vintage (and most likely expensive) guitar from my father and i'm looking to get it appraised for insurance purposes. i've tried all the local places and no one was any help, least of all the morons at guitar center.
can anyone suggest a quality place to perform an appraisal?
thanks.
