Appraisal Institute Accused of Covering Up Sexual Harassment and Test Flaws

Along those lines, the bleeding of members over the recent years has been on the residential side. The MAIs really don't care about REVAA, PAREA, or Friday's letter supporting experience credit for data collection assignments. Sadly, there's not enough residential members to matter anymore (if they ever did). What happened to Cindy and what is playing out right now is proof residential members do not matter.
Residential has never been one of their priorities. It's a commercial operation which is fine but most CGs don't join anymore.
 
Too many ties to appraisal management companies and other questionable activities. That is not our company policy and procedures, especially if you are a woman. Ms Chance found out quick.

Ms. Chance did want to make a change. I believe that with all my heart. The company did not want to make that change and didn't want hear a peep out of her.

She wouldn't shut up. They fired her. If I grab it, you like it.

This train is rolling and you are not going to stop it. Go find another job.

Very odd there isn't a chorus of members that are publicly demanding resignation.
That you are not seeing them doesn't mean they are not being made. There were calls, including my own, for the entire leadership (all implicated in the lawsuit) and Board to resign. No Board member who was near the organization when AI and Steinley paid $412,000 to settle a previous sexual harrassment suit 16 months ago should remain.

in my opinion that ruined her credibility and just proves that when all else fails pull the race gender, or someone slapped my 59 year old azz. This is why you don't make a women in charge, when your organization is 98% old white guys.

@appraisal Institute- The Appraisal Institute is a rudderless ship and is about to hit the rocks. This non response from AI, allows Craig Steinley to go into hiding (and apparently still get paid) and is complete organizational failure.

He should be suspended immediately with pay pending an independent investigation (innocent until proven guilty).

You know, an official proactive response from the organization.

One of the counts in the lawsuit from C.C. is that AI knew what was going on and refused to take action.

That should have happened, however when the prior claim and settlement was made (smoking gun).

How is that guy getting another shot at being the Appraisal Institute President again in 2 years and why were voting committee members not made aware of the recent abuse settlement from his alleged actions before the vote reinstalling him as Vice President?

Shadey stuff!

I hear that there is a thing called the AUDIT COMMITTEE that wields a lot of control to keep people in line at the AppraisalInstitute. Could this possibility be true?

Where is the investigation into cozying up to AMC's?

That behavior is akin to a union leader being sponsored by a general contractor trade group.

Big conflict of interest.

But that MO also explains why AI leadership wants to change the Bylaws to allow NON PUBLIC MEETINGS and keep members further in the dark!

Well, she is infinitely smarter than you, and ethical, and has a good attorney, and isn't in it for cash. But keep showing Gump how to keep your post count up without adding a thing to any thread.

No her failure was the inability to gain the support of the majority of the general member's to get behind her and fight for her. Their no place to be found except a few here and there.

That's a skill that's learned by few and that's why IQ or a PHD doesn't mean your qualified for the job.

The fact is the organization has rarely had any leadership that inspires it's members to become better. It's functioning as a Club not representing it's profession or members.

So to Ms Chance looking forward she has to be able to get the general member's behind her to keep a leadership position in any future employment.
