Appraisal Institute Accused of Covering Up Sexual Harassment and Test Flaws

And while I'm on my soapbox, I have always advocated for a split between the residential and general side of the AI or a flat-out new org for residential appraisers formed with the help of the AI. The mess that's PAREA, to Dr. Chance being fired, to the current drama, near 100% of it is residential related and caused by MAIs who have no clue. The AI is suffering all of this because they treat residential appraisers less than and look down their noses at residential mortgage work. That attitude has allowed REVAA and AMCs to infiltrate the institute. Now the institute is in turmoil, just like the residential side of the business has been for years. But in the end the MAIs will move on while the residential side will be destroyed by REVAA and AMCs. If the AI had a side ran by residential appraisers I highly doubt REVAA and AMCs would be calling the shots because resi guys/gals know the game, while most MAIs would guess REVAA is a new drug to treat prostate enlargement.

Members have the power to not be members. If they remain members they are enabling.
It's not that simple. I benefit from AI's education, local chapter, publications, library, and, when it's not in the toilet, reputation. The courts, counties, and IRS prefer designated appraisers. I've never met Mr. Steinley, and the leadership I have met, including Dr. Chance, have been helpful in furthering my career goals.

Maybe djd09 is a Saints fan and real excited about the draft?
It was djd that helped me wear Joan Trice out. I said it was digger. It was djd. Me, Marion, Evincere and djd. 4 person tag team. Poor Joan stood little chance. We were worse than Congress. LOL

They remember.

Joan remembers very well. LOL Joan evidently liked facing congress more than us 4. LOL

@Fernando . I thought you had been around a while. You would remember.

I changed names. Joan did too. I am getting new puppy this week I think. Letting wife pick it out. I will ask head surfer if they will change my name again to whatever my wife names our new puppy.

I like Zoe. She was my best friend and had diabetes. Had to put her down. Couldn't watch her suffer. I had seen family with dogs and 2 had diabetes and went blind and had to watch them suffer. She was already suffering. Her sugar was 700 and I had no idea what was wrong but she was asking me help me. Zoe means "life".

I had her put to sleep Feb 5. Vet said you can give her shots. I said I understand diabetes very well. I have seen 2 dogs suffer a long time that were given shots. We are going to end her suffering today so I can remember her the way she is today. She was already suffering. Had lost a bunch of weight and having other issues like seizures, loss of appetite, energy, eyes getting cloudy, etc.

Diabetes is not something vet routinely checks for. I had been taking her to same vet for years. I told him symptoms and he checked and said her sugar is 700. She has diabetes. Dog's blood sugar should be similar to normal blood sugar for a human which is between 70 and 120.

I have to admit. Evincere and Marion were way worse than me on Joan Trice. I just baited her. They went in for the kill. LOL

I don't have a subscription to the NY Times - but I'm also told Cindy Chance's lawsuit was filed last week as well. Sooner or later, everyone's bill comes due. The AI's bill is long overdue.
Sorry, I got sidetracked. It is sad. I don't know how to fix it. I thought Ms. Chance could make a difference. I was wrong.

Maybe them firing her was the start of a change. The lady seemed very astute to me.

Another president’s message, more words with no action. “perceived dysfunctions”, really? Only perceived? Nothing is changing, nothing will change.

The revaa room is powerful. And I don’t think public trust is mentioned in their mission statement. If it is, it’s totally ignored. Their hedge fund investors aren’t interested in that sort of nonsense.

There advocates for AMCs and Banks and lenders. They are not representing the public interest. The appraisers and their organizations are tye ones mandated to public trust.

Learn the roles that control or involves public trust issues. You don't create mission statements about that when it's clearly not your mission.
