Calling for an appraiser boycott nationwide for a week

Maybe we can get the Appraisers Union to get their sponsoring brethren (the painters union) to strike. If enough rich people don't get their painting and wallpapering done, it's possible someone might notice...:Eyecrazy:

The boycott has been going strong in one form or another for some time.

Here is my state side $300+ or bust thread. (please contribute - 5 star thread) Of which most appraisers on the forum in CO stayed away from like it was a hot potato. Not surprising that I don't get much support with that concept & thread, because it's apparently well beyond the threshold of typical AMC payouts in my state. Only a rare few are the real deal who really back it up with actions, most just pay lip service to the issues because they are upset. I say put your money where your mouth is. I've written dozens of letters to institutions, congressmen, and senators. I hope everyone who contributed to this thread has done, or will do the same.

In CO, the backlog for certified upgrades is out 6 months. You might be surprised to find your own state is backlogged as well. Appraisers will simply have to wait for this final round of skippies to figure it out the hard way, but by then it may be too late. It does appear that the solution lies within the regulation.

Coast 2 Coast

Good Luck getting paid, they promise you pay pal payment, then their system is down, then they will pay on friday, then they got a bum check from the loan officer. Get your money up front!!!! New York company.

Why doesn't every appraiser boycott every AMC for a week?
I boycotted secondary market several years ago for all but one bank who did their own in house appraiser picking... no AMC ever...and when fannie said MISMO is the only way to go... I fired them. So? what are you going to do? I did my part.

Maybe we could take a couple of weeks off, take a vacation down to the gulf and pick up oil on the beaches.

Help the enviorment, take a vacation, get a part time job and let the AMCs stew over the new regs.

Sound like fun.

wait for cooler weather... the tar balls get harder when the oil is cold, easier to pick up.

Probably more appraisers will use those links to apply for work orders, than to join a boycott...

Calvin hit the nail squarely on the head.

Once supply and demand come into better balance fees will improve, well at least until the skippy mills fire up bringing in a new boat load of trainee runners.

Everyone's gotta be a skippy to start.

Now is the Time!

Weather you have done it before or not, now is the time.

Weather you need to work with AMC's or not, now is the time.

Push the full fee, and accept nothing else. Reference the recent legal changes every single time a discounted request comes across your desk.

This boycott will last a bit longer than a week, but it will be well worth it.

Let the thread be refreshed!
