Will the $15 wage floor be the demise of Costco/US economy....

I believe both will continue to survive and prosper....

Large retail companies who decide to short staff employees only end up hurting themselves by pissing off customers....

Need employees to unload and stock products in the back of store when distribution truck delivers products....
Need employees to bring product from back of store to stock shelves in front of store....
Need cashiers....

If large retailers want to cut back on hours, product will sit in back of store and customers will get pissed off waiting in long check out lines....

Agreed, but that is the first sign of business trouble. Need to cut payroll to try and make it.

More supply of low wage people on the way ...

The retail apocalypse is now in full swing. As consumers drift toward the ease of online shopping, brick and mortar stores begin to close up. Dollar Tree is the latest in a wave of companies announcing that they will be closing several hundred stores in the following months.

Dollar Tree reported a $2.3 billion loss, which has propelled the company to announce store closures and renovations. Dollar Tree plans to close 390 Family Dollar stores this year while renovating 1,000 other locations.

A furious wave of retail store closures is underway. Many companies have too much debt and can no longer remain competitive with companies such as Amazon. The bankruptcy marks the latest in a series of similar cases among mall retailers that have been unable to identify any realistic sustainable path amid declining foot traffic and intense digital competition.

$15 wage floor has nothing to do with Dollar Tree shutting down....

So ... if they can't pay the prevailing minimum wage because the their revenue is falling, why do you suppose they laid off minimum wage workers?

What do you think will happen to those minimum wage workers? There is a new supply to hit the market so if they want a job at minimum wage, they surely will find one.
