Massachusetts is the 7th most moved-out-of state

JANUARY 3, 2019

The annual National Movers Study from national moving company United Van Lines reveals Massachusetts is among the worst states in the nation for people leaving, rather than moving in.

Massachusetts ranked No. 7 on the company's list of most moved from states last year. More than half -- 56 percent -- of Massachusetts moves were outbound, the report said.

Some people don't know their state is losing population or the reason why.

I visited Pittsburg as a kid. It was an urban version of the worst parts of West Virginia and evident why it was called the rust belt. We went to a Steelers game, in the ghettos of Pitsburg. I hope its better today, It prolly can't be worse.:popcorn:

Ever wonder why they named the City Pittsburg or Pittsburghuh?

:rof::rof: If you came to a Steelers game as a kid it was probably at Pitt Stadium in the middle of one of the world's outstanding research universities, but to you it was a ghetto?!! :rof::rof:

I can't speak to today. It looked alot like pics of modern day Detroit when I was there years ago. So what are recent population growth numbers?

Funny you should mention unhappiness. Saw an article the other day ranking happiest and unhappiest states. You volunteers were on the top ten of unhappiest states. But, hey, not that one can't be happy there.

Did not find Tenn. on these list.

The major threat to this region (Western NC & E Tenn) is increased population. The less we say about how it is here the longer we forestall the problems associated with population growth, from increased CO emissions to ............
Why they want to come live in our “podunk” region is a mystery to me.
Its not a mystery to anyone loving the outdoors! We go to the Gatlinburg area every year, but not for the tourist trappings, but the awesome scenery, hiking, camping, etc. I personally think the people there are great as well, Vol fans notwithstanding whenever they play the Gators... :)

I love these surveys - they discourage people from migrating here, since they think they'll be miserable here.

But, I wonder how credible a survey is that refers to "most unhappiest". Even we here in Podunk know that ain't right.

Oh - the people feeling miserable in Alabama are the Auburn fans.
