Does your appraisal business have a website?

i used to have a great xsite from alamode but trashed it. didnt lose a dime in income.

I got rid of the dated Alamode/Corelogic website and made my own with GoDaddy. Overall, the cost is less I think plus the site looks better. The only reason I keep the site is because I am in the midst of a job search and want to add credibility to my decade of self employment for potential employers. Over the years, I have received very little work from my site. I am residential only.

I have a website that probably nets 1-2 appraisals per month. People find me, but mostly through Google My Business, not as much my website (although they visit it). Not an xsite because those all look the same.

yes. as a member of the nar i have a .realtor website.

its $39.95 a year. i think the first year was free or first 2 years was $19.95/year or something like that.

then i also use google domain ($12/year) to create a custom url to forward to the website. the custom url i setup is "myname.net" so i use that in appraisal reports, on business cards, google business page, and facebook business page.

its pretty basic and i only get a few assignments a year from it. but i like having my name real name as a website address lol

Had a really nice website for about 10 years - Took it down few years ago. Never got a damn thing from it except the associated costs. Haven't handed out a business card in years, don't need them either.

Can't say I get business from handing out business cards, but, I think it shows a level of professionalism and serves as a quasi identification. I always hand the borrower/owner/agent a business card at the door when I introduce myself.

In 2020 I did 18 private party appraisals. Can't say how many of those were from my website, google business page, or word of mouth. But I do know a majority of the assignments were refereed from a local broker as the clients took it upon themselves to tell me during conversation without me asking.

All other assignments were from being on lender/client approved lists.

This, handing out/leaving business cards, at properties has DEFINITELY gained me MORE business than my website
YES > business cards. AND so I don't get fired upon for taking photos in neighborhoods I place a magnetic Company Info' sign on my car. BOTH have been good for business.
I do have a website and it's through my software provider. Need to make that change sometime this year. Need a class on "best ways to profit from a web site design" first.
Certainly not my expertise.

I'm not sure why but for free googling my business and for my area: I find I am on several fee-pay sites where I have never paid a dime.
