Duel Sided Fireplace, UAD Count

Doesn't each FP have to have a chimney? If it's one chimney and one heat source below the chimney, it would be one FP, albeit one with a clever design of two sides. Adjust it for superior appeal if you believe market is returning a premium and explain why, but it's one FP imo.
It's not a good idea but some houses have been built with two fireplaces sharing a common chimney.

okay, good to know, we have very few fireplaces in Florida!

Wow, did not mean to start a firestorm. I was asking because someone else I know counted them as two and wanted to bounce it off you folks, Thanks for the input.

I doubt even the UAD police care very much which way this is counted, as long as the amenity is explained and any market premium adjusted for.

A fireplace that opens to two sides only has one combustion area, and the risk associated with the arrangement shown in this rendering doesn't exist.

UAD or not, what the OP describes is one fireplace, not two.

The picture I posted was for the educational benefit of J Grant. Here's one for the OP.
Ask your associate how many fireplaces in this picture. Looks like one to me but by their logic it could be three.

lol...one fireplace with three sides.

We do see occasional FP in homes here, I think its more for appearance as they are rarely used.

The weirdest one I ever saw was in a super luxury home, they had two sided fireplace with one side facing master bath tub and the other side facing the bedroom.

That's actually quite popular around here in higher end houses. So Romantical!:Emoticon_hug:

Sounds muy romantico...
