Has everyone noticed this yet?

There is not one single solitary thread on this forum that I have been able to find that says:

AMC's saved my career!

I owe all my success to E-the-rapist!

So glad the AMC called today!

Does anyone here really think these guys are helping ANYONE?

I understand many people entered the profession and these characters were already here--so they don't understand what they are missing...but we aren't getting a chance to do "their" work--they stole "our" clients!

You new guys need to understand that they are interceding in your livelihood, they don't provide it.

The guy with the carpetbagger drawing has it dead on. These guys need to go the way of the snake oil salesman.

Now, the business model in and of itself isn't criminal, or even unethical...it is just unecessary and irrelevant.

Level the playing field, research you State's rules & regs and find out if your State Appraisal Board regulates "appraisal service providers". If so, find out if your favorite AMC is registered with the State. What, they're not? Oh my! Do something about it.
Don't waste time complaining about, follow Pam's lead an do something. You've got nothing left to lose.

For those of you who refuse to do work with AMC's, what are you going to do after 9/1/2008? All lenders will be using AMCs, and I mean ALL lenders. All the whining in the world isn't going to beat the AMC machine!

The DREAM would be to see everyone on here say NO!! & really support PAM as many have Fasely claimed to do. Whining won't help, BUT investigations might!!

9/1/2008 the end of a profession!! To think there isn't even any memorabila to collect!!

FTR - I completely agree with this in terms of mortgage work, Karl. What a messed up solution.

I'll be selling bobble heads of nattering nabobs of negativity.

I was going to edit my posts to Karl - but they've been quoted so I don't see the point. And, I know he can take it.

However, I was on him for something only somewhat related (which I've informed him of) and was over the top in my response. Sorry about that, Karl.

Edit to add - this is not an "I'm sorry if I offended" apology. No if included.

9/3/2008

9/3/2008 Local customer applies for loan with local mortgage broker- says house worth 200K. Local mortgage broker orders appraisal with AMC R Us (est 8/15/2008). 10/15/2008 Appraisal emailed to broker - customer there in office madder than he!! that it has taken so long. The both peruse the report and see glaring identification and description errors, comps are miles away and value estimation is 148K. Customer and Broker are both in flames. Loan is dead. Customer or broker call YOU - the local appraiser who happened to have appraised the property in 1/07 for 195K and you agree to peruse the form for laughs. Your review confirms the errors and misinformation and you even go so far to find overlooked comparable sales. You may even relay this problem to them for free but of course with no value. They beg YOU to appraise the home and are willing to pay you full fee for a proper appraisal so they can try todispute the AMC version.

It is going to be a wild ride.
