Fee For Desktop Reports

It doesn’t matter, the AMC sets the fee

They defacto set the fee despite their PC pose of the appraiser sets the fee

If 10 appraisers send fees for desktops to the company and 5 of the appraiser's fees are $200 and 5 of the appraisers charge $300, then all the work will go to the five who charged $200. This would not be the case if the AMC did not profit off the fee splits. So the 5 appraisers who sent in fees for $300 got to "set their fee" but get no work. NEWB IES, pay attention.

Direct engagement lenders typically disclose they pay X$ per appraisal and it is C and R and they pay it to every appraiser in a region on the panel, so they are not making people compete on fees for regular orders nor engaging in games of " the appraiser sets the fee but will get no work as long as others charge us less". When too much of the work is from AMC;s appraisers end up on the short end

I wonder if borrowers pay the same for a hybrid as they do when the appraiser does the full appraisal and inspects

Your C&R fees by state are listed here

Doesn’t matter, the scum bags will start bidding those out too. Just start out by saying you’ll do them for free, get ahead of the curve.
