Getting Social Security and working

In the end, you may pay close to $450-$500/month for Medicare Part A, B, D and the best Supplemental Plan - which should include dental, eye and hearing aids (although just going to Costco is not a bad idea),- plus free 24 Hour Fitness. And, at least in California, pay nothing else, as long as the treatment or surgery is deemed necessary by a doctor.

- But how long is it going to last? Every year the fees go up.

considering my record this year - dermatology, orthopedics and rehab, cardiologist, urologist, MRI, my bills would have been horrendous if I wasn't on a plan that covers most everything.
The goal is to expire before those choices come around. Who want's to live forever?

You don't have to worry about all that. Put everything into the house. Retain amazingly low payment structures. Live a debt free lifestyle.

Then transfer the home to your kids and hop onto welfare if the need arises.

That's what everyone else does these days.

Live in Colorado high UV climate long enough and you will likely reach the point where you start needing skin surgery ... and without Medicare that is very expensive. With Medicare Supplemental, it shouldn't cost you a dime (currently!!)

I could be so lucky. Give me something better with a much more rapid onset which leads to nearly immediate death.

The trick to being outdoors in Colorado is to always wear long sleeves a hat and jeans.

Takes a white boy exactly two minutes and zero seconds in the hot sun to flame up like a marshmallow over a campfire.

Look at these Fern (2025 changes to Social Security)

From what I understand starting at age 62 vs age 70 could cost you a bunch of money.

If you wait little while, you will draw more benefits.

Get on the medicare as fast as you can.

Medicare is probably better than health insurance congress has and Congress has great health insurance. They are probably real similar in health insurance.

Not much difference probably between Congress health insurance and medicare. Congress subsidizes their own health insurance.

It would be interesting to know who provides Congress health insurance? Does Congress have their own health insurance company? I don't know.

Congress plan is probably better when you read all the fine print.

Problem is that I'll still be making lot of money by 62. I would have to pay taxes on SS which I have to consider.
My sibling died before getting any SS. I want to get my hard earned money given to the government back.

How Trump’s Second Presidency Could Impact Retirees in 2025

Social Security Changes

According to the Social Security Administration, about 40% of retirees pay federal income tax on the benefits they receive each month. “Seniors should not pay tax on Social Security,” Trump said during his campaign. He promised to eliminate these taxes. This might be the biggest potential shake-up imminently facing retirees.

Yes, I had some of my best income years after i waited past 65 for my social security. Why am i paying taxes on it when i already paid taxes on it to have it. Government can't get enough of my money.
My advice is that if your are making good money non, wait till 70 to collect it. They count the highest 25 years of income, and after 65 you get a even higher amount waiting to be 70. In the old days most people didn't live to be 70, so it was a trick by the government to save that money for themselves.
