If I heard the news right, Sarah Palin and the "right wing" did it... nothing said about the person being a psychopath that got kicked out of college for his behavior. So can I legitimately ask why no one can intervene in this day and age? Years ago, he would have been committed to an Insane Asylum but an enlightened America ended those and so dangerous and violent people walk the streets and listen to the voices in their head without a murmur from us all.

The policy of let the banks fail seems to work as Iceland is recovering with out the debt burdens of saving the banks. Once this becomes established and noticed, Ireland just may go that route and tell Europe tough, we ain't paying. Then Greece, and the rest of the PIIGS.

I agree. How about his parents? They were evidently coddling, shielding and enabling him to mingle with the public. My ex-mother-in-law was stabbed to death by her mentally ill son 25 years ago. Voices in his head told him he needed to kill somebody by 9 AM. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity. Never served a day in prison, very little time in any institutions. Walks among us to this day, reportedly drinking and not taking his medications.

Terrel, Vetteman: It's impossible to confine anyone involuntarily over about 72 hrs before they do something. We had a young man who was schezophrenic down here. Dug up a body and stole a foot, threatened to kill his parents, etc. They could not get him locked up until he was caught with the foot, and then he'll be locked up until he gets leveled out on his meds, then turned back loose to hurt someone.
