Global Economy Bursting?

Brazoria County in south Texas has coral reefs indicating that this was once part of the ocean. Pasadena, TX data can be interpreted that the oceans are rising. However, the fact is that the Gulf Coast is subsiding, not that the ocean is rising. It has subsided several feet as it is setting on top of numerous salt domes and is not stable. But the alarmists fail to take this into consideration.

Breaking News:

SCOTUS just ruled unanimously that the class-action lawsuit by several women against Wal-Mart could not proceed, overturning a ruling by the 9th Circuit. It means that specific individuals who allege discrimination can sue, but the lawyers cannot include every woman that has worked at Wal-Mart in an extreme assumption that every woman has been discriminated against. Big hit against plaintiff attorneys.

http://www.goldalert.com/2011/06/100-chance-of-greek-default-says-niall-ferguson/
Niall Ferguson says Greece will default
Alan Greenspan says if Greece defaults we will slip back into recession
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-06-16/default-by-greece-almost-certain-greenspan.html
I have a lot more faith in Naill than Greenspan but I think there is a very good chance they are both right.
Another view on Greece's defaulting http://www.bloomberg.com/video/70231710/
I've recently gotten calls from 3 different banks in last 2 weeks,
graciously telling me that as a "Valued Customer", they want me to
"earn more interest" by changing my investment time line & going out 5+ years.
This together with Banks offering a $100 bonus for opening an account,
and $50 for referring a friend, all tell me money's getting dearer, and rates are set to rise - rapidly?
Banks don't love me, but they do love renting money cheap & big profits.
Will Greece default?, does a bear sit in the woods?
I'm convinced it's not a question of 'IF', it's a question of 'when',
and when it happens, the question becomes, whether the European Union
and the Euro will fail, as Portugal, Ireland, & Spain, also default.

.Interesting times.

San Francisco declared among nation's 20 dirtiest cities

San Francisco was the first city in the nation to ban plastic bags.

The city scored the dubious honor of being listed as the 12th dirtiest city in the nation in Travel + Leisure's annual America's Favorite Cities survey, despite placing San Francisco in the top 10 for environmental friendliness and quality of life. San Francisco also ranked high in diversity, coffee, ethnic food, noteworthy neighborhoods and views.

Prior to Prop. 13 it was one of the cleanest in the world. :fiddle:

The solution to high taxes and runaway spending is not inane rules, but responsible actions by voters. The inability of so many to look beyond what is good for ME AND MINE is the essence of the state of the global economy. Everyone wants great services, but they want someone else to pay the bill.

When taxes are too low everybody suffers just as people suffer when taxes are too high. By choice I live in an area with the highest tax rates in the state (taxes have not risen in the last four years.) In return the area also provides the best array of services in the state. I don't think it is a coincidence the area also has by far the lowest unemployment rate in the state. Thoughtful, sound decisions are the mark of our local government as are well educated and active voters.

The way we are importing stuff from China sooner or later North Americal is going to sink and China will rise. That is using Green Logic.

In the boader picture, looks like the stuff is about to hit the fan. The scary thing about this is that the riots in Greece just show how many radicals and just plain idiots there are in the world. What the hell do they think the government can do about the situation? They seem to be motivated by saying "if we cannot survive we will made darn sure no one else does either."

It is the old union mentality: "When the plant closes sing the solidarity song." Whatever the hell good that means or accompolishes.

Eight million gallons of water drained from reservoir after man urinates in it

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...-from-reservoir-after-man-urinates-in-it.html

The cost of draining the reservoir after Joshua Seater was caught on a security camera relieving himself in the pristine lake is costing taxpayers $36,000.

Are they likewise going to drain it every time a bird flies over and makes a deposit? What about fish that might get in the water? Most of the water sources we have are a toilet for something, which is why we treat the water before putting it in the plumbing system.
