Try SFREP. I think they're giving 6 months free and it will accommodate both legacy (2.6) and new (3.6). It's not the flashiest application out there, but for folks who want more of a 'traditional' feel, that's it. Desktop based. Haven't tried ApprAIz yet, but I'm guessing it feels a lot like Aivre. Reggora is supposed to be dropping their offering soon as well - upside to that option is that it's going to be free for appraisers to use.
AB: Now I'm confused. Isn't the 3.6 model based on a cloud-type theory rather than desktop? Or is it depending on the software provider? I ask that because ACI tech support recently advised me that the RAM concept of computing isn't increased because of 3.6 because it isn't desktop based. Your insight is appreciated as always.

BTW what does it mean if a lending client tells me that the company is "switching over to AFN and will be able to order directly from me without using an AMC." ?????

Not necessarily.

Correct.

Not sure what an 'AFN' is? Appraisal file number? Sounds like your client is moving to a direct engagement model - which (generally) means a higher fee for the appraiser.

UAD 3.6 Myths

Myth 1: UAD 3.6 requires cloud based software. Whether the software is cloud based or native to a local computer is entirely up to the software provider. Many providers have moved to cloud based systems because it is far easier to deploy updates/changes in a cloud based system rather than having users update individual computers.

Myth 2: UAD 3.6 requires me to have Internet access in the field. Some choose to use data collection apps, but that is not required. Also, even if using an app to collect field data, most of those apps have provisions for collecting that data even if web access is not available during the property visit.
