hey fellow appraisers:

Just wanting to see if your business is flourishing or quite simply "DEAD". I have been averaging abt 2-3 a week. There are signs, however, that it maybe picking up a bit as there are multiple offers and offers higher than the asking price.

Current volume at 1998-99 levels. Actually enjoying the free time, but the Gas City won't seem to budge on gas price.

A fairly busy week (the month was erratic and poor overall) but only one was mortgage related.

The year started out ahead of last year, but dropped in April and it's down again in May. Some weeks I have nothing, others I have 4 or 5. Overall I'm averaging between 3 and 4 a week this month and last.

What part of the state are you in? Business IS picking up but sales are almost always limited to foreclosures and short sales.

Refi's are almost always FHAs. Some jumbo conventional since that scenario has been liberalized. Are you on the FHA "roster?"

I have a wide range of assignments this month from lender’s work, private assignments and four today to satisfy a bank's audit. No consistent flow of work from one client. I did get an appraisalport assignment for BOA wholesale that does not use LSI. I lost BOA retail to LSI last summer.

I am getting many B of A FHA orders. Direct email of reports....no appraisalport nonsense.
