How are my fellow appraisers doing?

Florida makets in my area continue to slip.

I know we have all seen down turns in the real estate market but what I see now is much worst then anything I have seen before.

I have a friend who has a U-Haul dealer ship and every now and then I stop in to see him.

The stories you hear from people renting trucks to move everything they own back up north is tuff to listen to.

Many of them tell me they mailed the keys back to the bank and are going to live with familes up north. My friend that runs the business tells me he hears the exact same stories each day from another family.

I find in talking to some of these people that they had ARM's and once their rate changed they just could not hold on any longer.

The market on the west coast is now the worst I have seen in 18 years and it just seems to get worst each week.

When I watch the 6 PM news and hear that they still don't want to call this a recession I just wonder what planet George Bush is living on.

I should also tell you that I voted for him the Last Time.

I'm just plain dead in the water. One would think their would be a lot of review and REO work, but no... that is going to the realtors in the form of BPO's.

As a result I think the bank is taking a bath with some of the REO prices I see. They are getting snached up too! Probably to the buddy of the Realtor that wrote the BPO... Why don't they have to follow the same rules as we do!

Slow and LOVING IT! I have to admit that I'm kind of tired of working altogether. I'm looking forward to summer, nice weather and plenty of sailing. I've decided to just take what comes (20-30/month) and relax for 2008. I'm remodeling the house and enjoying the break, I was INSANELY busy 2000-2005. Four hours sleep a night for months at a time, no days off, etc. I'm glad now that I saved my money.
