Hurricane Helena devastation in NC!

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is out of money and can't get Americans through the remainder of this Atlantic hurricane season, according to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who said the agency reportedly blew $640 million on the migrant crisis.

Who said that was false info?
Don't care Who is in office, take some of those BILLIONS (they send overseas) and spend it right here at home on those who Fill the TAX coffers...!!

It was just supposed to be rain. Who would have thought a hurricane would bring in that kind of damage 500 miles from where it entered land and up 2500 ft up the mountains.
Climate change means any area is vulnerable - water levels rise and lakes and rivers flood with warmer temperatures and that is what happened up in the mountains of NC. Wind damage pierces a roof, and roofs not strapped with Hurricane straps fly off, and the house gets flooded. For the anti-regulation folks, there is a reason for building codes - I'm just saying. Many of the homes in remote rural areas are older and not built to code and not built to withstand a flood.

It will be spent here. The storm cleanup and reparations will continue for a year plus.

With loans. SA is much lower key. RC spends 25% of every dollar donated on administrative costs. SA almost zero. Most good charities are running 10% range. Walmart, Tyson etc. will step up with donations of items and food as well. Another worthy charity is Search Dog Foundation.
You are recommending donating to charities that are not oriented toward storm relief.

according to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who said the agency reportedly blew $640 million on the migrant crisis.
WASHINGTON (TNND) — A warning by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas Wednesday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) does not have enough funding to adequately respond to hurricanes came after the agency spent over $690 million this year to assist communities with influxes of migrants.

The Category 4 Hurricane Helene made landfall last week, wreaking havoc across the southeast U.S. The storm killed more than 200 people across multiple states, making it one of the deadliest in U.S. history.

Mayorkas during a press gaggle aboard Air Force One Wednesday suggested FEMA would be strapped for cash should hurricane season lead to more damage across the U.S.

We — we are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,” he said. “We are expecting another hurricane hitting. We do not have the funds. FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season and what — what is imminent.”
The agency has spent $690.9 million this year to “enable non-federal entities to off-set allowable costs incurred for services associated with noncitizen migrant arrivals in their communities,” according to FEMA’s fiscal year 2024 awards. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott slammed the secretary over the findings in a post via X.

“This is easy,” he jeered. “Mayorkas and FEMA — immediately stop spending money on illegal immigration resettlement and redirect those funds to areas hit by the hurricane. Put Americans first.”

The above is factual regarding who said what. Fact check before repeating things you "heard" especially if you heard it on FOX news.

No telling how many animals were lost in that hurricane. Some wild animals, some pets, some farm animals.

That should name that storm Helene the Mean.
